On January 1, 2007, Empire Medicare Services became National Government Services, Inc. This new organization combines the operational, financial, and human resources of five great companies―AdminaStar Federal, Associated Hospital Service, Anthem Health Plans of New Hampshire, Inc., Empire Medicare Services, and United Government Services, LLC.—and positions this new enterprise as the national leader in Medicare.

The consolidation of these great organizations brings together the long-held traditions of customer focus and operational excellence that each company provides and creates an opportunity to offer an even stronger operation that will deliver the very best in service and education to the provider and supplier communities serviced by National Government Services.

As part of this consolidation, National Government Services will begin to move our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Gateway and Translator to our Shelbyville Data Center. This move will provide efficiencies to our overall EDI operation. National Government Services will migrate all providers and electronic trading partners from the current Gateway to the new Gateway in our Shelbyville Data Center beginning in October 2007 with completion by December 31, 2007.

The purpose of this standardization is to be able to process Medicare electronic transactions in a uniform manner within National Government Services and provide you with a greater level of customer service.

We have developed a comprehensive project plan to migrate all our electronic trading partners, and we are dedicated to making this transition successful to ensure minimal impact to you, our valued customer. We are committed to keeping you informed about the upcoming changes and encourage you to watch for EDI updates in future monthly issues of the Medicare Monthly Review , our new combined provider newsletter, and on our Web site. To learn more about our transition and how it will affect you, read all future EDI Gateway Migration special bulletins, and visit our Web site at www.NGSMedicare.com .

The knowledge and expertise of our transition team will be utilized to ensure a smooth transition to a shared EDI Gateway.
