Communications Infrastructure Testing

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is working to ensure that its communications infrastructure can reach providers in the event of a regional or national disaster. It is important that at such times, providers can be reached with critical information in a timely fashion. The contractors’ relationship with the Medicare providers is a key component of the infrastructure.

One of Empire Medicare Services’ primary tools for delivering information to our providers is the Electronic Mailing List. We recommend that all providers have a minimum of two individuals subscribed to the mailing list, one primary and one backup, in order to remain informed in case of a regional or national emergency. You can subscribe to the Empire Medicare Services’ mailing list at http://www.empiremedicare.com/servlist/listservformindex.htm.
