Medicare Monthly Review Part A and B
A Combined Part A and Part B Newsletter

MMR-2007- 09B, September 2007

Reminder: National Government Services Part B New York Standardization of the Multi-Carrier System (MCS)

As part of our consolidation within National Government Services, Inc., we are standardizing our Part B claims processing system, the Multi-Carrier System or MCS, across our coverage area. On or about September 1, 2007, the National Government Services Part B New York claims processing system will be standardized with the claims processing system of our Indiana and Kentucky jurisdictions. The purpose of this standardization is to be able to process Medicare claims in a uniform manner within our organization and provide you with a greater level of customer service.

We have developed a comprehensive project plan to merge our Medicare claims processing systems, and we are dedicated to making this transition successful to ensure minimal impact to you, our valued customer. We are committed to keeping you informed about the upcoming changes and encourage you to watch for MCS updates in future monthly issues of the Medicare Monthly Review and on our Web site. To learn more about our MCS transition and how it will affect the provider community, visit our Web site at: http://www.empiremedicare.com/partbny/billing/mcs_index.htm.

The knowledge and expertise of our standardization teams will be utilized to ensure a smooth transition to a shared claims processing system.
