Medicare will soon be making adjustments to previously processed claims. These payments are a result of recent changes to the Medicare fee schedule.

We will send you a new Medicare Summary Notice (MSN). The new MSN will say:
"This notice is being sent to you as a result of a reopening request.”

Your provider may bill you for small extra amounts of coinsurance or deductible or both.

However, your Part B deductible will not exceed $124 in 2006.

Your MSN may not tell you that your claim has been sent to your second insurance. If it doesn’t, you should send a copy yourself.

If you have questions, you should call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

If you use TTY, you should call 1-877-486-2048.
