Important Reminder for New York
Part B Providers: Cannot Bill More Than 50 Lines of
Coding
According to the Implementation Guide, claims with
more than fifty (50) lines of coding will not be
accepted.
If you submit a file with a claim that contains more
than 50 lines of coding, the whole file will be deleted.
You will have to create the entire file again and
resubmit that file without the error claim(s). This
causes an unnecessary delay in the processing of your
claims.
Important Note: You will not receive a report
from us letting you know that the file has been
deleted.
There are ways to prevent this from happening. Please
get in touch with your vendor to discuss options, such
as:
- Billing certain time parameters,
- Billing only certain blocks of time.
Discussing these options with your software vendor may
help you make the use of your software more efficient.
Your vendor will be able to work with you to prevent this
from happening in the future.
