Implementation of Revised Fee Schedule Amounts for New Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) Codes for Power Mobility Devices (PMDs) (JSM-07074)

Joint Signature Memorandum/Technical Direction Letter (JSM/TDL)-07064, issued on November 9, 2006, included instructions for implementation on November 15, 2006, of refined fee schedule amounts for HCPCS codes K0813 thru K0864. The revised fee schedule amounts for codes K0813 thru K0864 were transmitted to contractors in addendum Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic, Orthotics, & Supplies (DMEPOS) fee schedule files on November 9, 2006.

This is to advise that the fee schedule amounts for codes K0857 and K0859 have been further refined and will be transmitted to contractors in addendum DMEPOS fee schedule on November 16, 2006. Contractors will adjust previously processed claims for codes K0857 and K0859 with dates of service on or after November 15, 2006, if they are resubmitted as adjustments.

In addition, suppliers can bill separately for expandable controllers furnished with power wheelchair codes K0841-K0843, K0861-K0864, K0884-K0886, and K0891, using code E2399 for claims with dates of service from November 15, 2006, through December 31, 2006, and new code E2377 for claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2007.
