FISS Online Screen Changes for NPI on October 2, 2006 Attention all FISS DDE Users: On October 2, 2006, the Medicare Part A Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) online screens will have new function and field information displayed on them for the National Provider Identifier (NPI). The new function will be related to all of those users that have an OMNIPRO Logon ID# that is affiliated with other provider numbers. In the past, the Standard System would generate the primary number in the provider number field. With this October release, the Standard System will require the user to data enter the provider number (OSCAR), the NPI, or both. Depending on the data that is entered, the Standard System will perform online editing. As a user, you must be aware of the new fields when performing your online functions.
