Redesigned PS&R System Update: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a new PS&R release that changes the date for the redesigned PS&R to July 31, 2007. CMS has released the following: “The PS&R is currently being redesigned and the new system (Redesigned PS&R) will be available soon. We anticipate that the Redesigned PS&R System will be utilized for all cost reports with fiscal years ending July 31, 2007 , and later. These cost reports will be both filed and settled using the redesigned PS&R. Cost reports with fiscal years ending prior to July 31, 2007, will continue to be filed and settled utilizing the current (Legacy) PS&R system. As a result of this transition, the Legacy PS&R system will not produce reports containing dates of service after July 30, 2007 . PS&R reports with a through date of July 31, 2007 and later, must be produced by the Redesigned PS&R system.” What this means: Therefore, any column with a through date on or after July 31, 2007, will no longer report any data and will be populated with zeroes. The columns with through dates prior to July 31, 2007 will contain all paid data for those service periods as in the past. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at psandr@empireblue.com. |
