PC-ACE FAQ - Claim Import for Part A

Claim Import
PC-ACE user receives one of the following error messages when attempting to import a claim file:
Error message - The UB92 claim import EMC file (EMC192.DAT) does not exist.
Possible causes when you are Importing a UB92 EMC File
- The UB92 data file is not located in the \WINPCACE\IMPUB92 directory
- The UB92 data file does not have a .DAT extension
Solution
Ensure that your EMC claim file is named EMC192.dat and that it is located in the directory Drive:\Winpcace\Impub92
Note: After importing a claim file PC-ACE changes the file’s extension to .bak
Possible causes when you are Importing a UB92 Print File
- PC-ACE is incorrectly configured to import a UB92 EMC file
Solution
Change PC-ACE’s Claim Import method to import a UB92 print file in Preferences
Claim Import Method
Change PC-ACE’s Claim Import method using the following procedure
- From PC-ACE’s Main Menu select File on the menu bar
- Left-click on Preferences
- Select the Claim Import tab
- Select the option Import claims from print file using standard PrintLink mapping technique
- Click on Ok to save your changes

Error message - The UB92 claim import print file (UB92.PRT) does not exist. No claims have been imported.
Possible causes when you are Importing a UB92 print file
- The UB92 print file is not located in the \WINPCACE\IMPUB92 directory
- The UB92 print file is not named UB92.PRT
Solution
Ensure that your UB92 Print file is named Ub92.prt and that it is located in the directory
Drive:\Winpcace\Impub92
Note After importing a claim file PC-ACE changes its extension to .BAK
Possible causes when you are Importing a UB92 EMC File
- PC-ACE is incorrectly configured to import a UB92 Print file
Solution
Change PC-ACE’s Preferences to import a UB92 EMC file using Claim Import Method, (above), but in step 4 select the option Import claims from file in Electronic Media Claims (EMC) format.
Error message - The UB92 claim import map file (xxx.MAP) is missing or corrupted. No claims have been imported.
Possible Causes when you are Importing a UB92 Print File
- The UB92.map file is not located in the \WINPCACE\IMPUB92 directory
- The UB92.map file does not have a .map extension
Solution
Ensure that the file UB92.map is located in the directory Drive:\Winpcace\Impub92
Possible causes when you are Importing a UB92 EMC File
- PC-ACE is incorrectly configured to import a UB92 Print file. EMC files do not require a map.
Solution
Change PC-ACE’s Preferences to import a UB92 EMC file using Claim Import Method, (above), but in step 4 select the option Import claims from file in Electronic Media Claims (EMC) format.
