PC-ACE Features for Part A
|
PC-ACE is a claim processing system that enables you to enter or import and edit Medicare claims. PC-ACE is updated quarterly to meet all of CMS’ requirements, which significantly reduces your returned claims and receivables.
This is the main menu. It offers Claim Processing, Reference File Maintenance, Communications, Claim Activity Scheduling, Electronic Remittance and System Utilities.

Institutional Claims Processing
The first icon is for Institutional Claim Processing. This selection performs the following functions:
- Import Claims - Importing UB92 EMC, print image or ANSI 837 claim files
- Enter Claims - Claim entry (keyboard)
- List Claims - Claim review, printing and edit/update
- Process Claims - Edit imported claims to ensure they meet CMS requirements
- Prepare Claims - After editing, create a HIPAA compliant Claim output file

Professional Claims Processing
This selection is for Physician billing and is not enabled in the Medicare, free version of PC-ACE. Contact the system’s vendor  for licensing information about their All Payer version of PC-ACE. |

Reference File Maintenance
This icon is for PC-ACE’s Reference File Maintenance. This enables you to query current ICD9, HCPCS and Revenue Codes, as well as Condition, Value, Span and Occurrence codes. These files are used by PC-ACE to validate your claim information.

Data Communications Function
Click on this icon when you are ready to send your claims to Empire. Instructions for setting up PC-ACE to link to your communications program can be found here.

Claim Activity Scheduling
Set PC-ACE to automatically Import, Process or Transmit your claims. These functions can be performed unattended leaving you free to do other things.

ANSI 835 Functions
Online receipt of your Electronic Remittance provides more versatility, line-level detail and enhanced claim Reason and Remark codes. PC-ACE also provides optional automatic payment posting capability. Click here for more information on Electronic Remittance.

System Utilities
System Backup and Restore protects your business from the loss of valuable data that can cost time and money. You can also Pack crucial files to maintain PC-ACE’s optimal efficiency or Reindex files that have been damaged by a power loss or some other unforeseen failure.

PC-ACE is fully HIPAA compliant and translates the following ANSI transactions:
- ANSI 835 - Remittance Advice
- ANSI 837 - Institutional Claim
- ANSI 997 - Transmission Acknowledgement
- ANSI 276/277 - Claim Status
