PC-ACE Installation for Part A

Installation
The first step of the PC-ACE installation process is to either download a PC-ACE installation program to your desktop or copy an installation program to your desktop from the CD that you ordered from Empire.
PC-ACE Pro32 is available as a free download to Empire providers or on CD for a nominal shipping and handling fee. You will find links to download or order a CD at the bottom of this page.
If you download PC-ACE you will be asked for your Medicare provider number and your facilities ZIP code to verify that Empire is your Fiscal Intermediary.
Install PC-ACE from Your Desktop
Whether you download PC-ACE from our web site or install it from our CD, copy the installation program to your PC’s desktop for the easiest installation. Do not copy or download the installation program to the Winpcace directory.
There are two versions of the PC-ACE Pro32 installation program.
- Setup.exe is the full installation of PC-ACE, for new PC-ACE users and
- Pcaceup.exe is the upgrade for providers who already have PC-ACE and want to upgrade to the most recent release. Upgrades to PC-ACE are available quarterly, beginning the first week of January.
After you copy the appropriate PC-ACE installation
program to your desktop, double-click on the PC-ACE installation
icon to begin the installation process. You will be asked for
a password to continue. New users can call our
NGS EDI Help Desk for
the password at 1-877-273-4EDI (1-877-273-4334).
After installation, an icon to start PC-ACE Pro32 will be installed on your desktop and a menu item, named MedLink Technologies PC-ACE Pro32, will be added to your Windows Program entry on your Start menu.
Installing PC-ACE on a Network
PC-ACE can be installed in a network environment if multiple users will be sharing the same claim information. Claim files and other support files will be installed on the server’s shared network drive. After the server installation you must install the client version of PC-ACE on each workstation.
